So we drove.  And then we realized we had failed to prepare in any way.  Amanda was wearing shorts, and we didn't bring the backpack with all of our stuff in it.  So that was pretty stupid.  And the field the hash point was in was really tall grass.  And then we got really scared that the hash point was in a tiny swamp in the middle of the field, and that we'd failed yet again.  But we traipsed around it and, while the gps tried to figure out where the heck it was, we discovered the hash point was most definitely ''not'' in the swamp, and that we'd already walked through it.  So we took pictures and got out of there, because it was in a sketchy area, and Amanda was scratched up and muddy and very much grumpy with me for the whole thing... So much for easy, but hey, now she can't say she's bad luck.

Expedition

Minus the part where I took the wrong exit and was headed East on I-40 instead of West, We found the geohash pretty easily.

But to start with, I should note that, previously, the only two times Amanda has come with me, we've failed to reach the hash point for various reasons. So she thought she was bad luck. I tried to convince her otherwise: it was only twice, and I've failed before when she wasn't with me, but she was adamant. So I figured the only way to prove that she wasn't bad luck was to take her along for a 'sure thing' geohash, and this expedition looked to be just that. Drive, park, walk, done.

But we traipsed around it and, while the gps tried to figure out where the heck it was, we discovered the hash point was most definitely not in the swamp, and that we'd already walked through it. So we took pictures and got out of there, because it was in a sketchy area, and Amanda was scratched up and muddy and very much grumpy with me for the whole thing... So much for easy, but hey, now she can't say she's bad luck.
