Location

On the edge of a patch of trees in a field less than half a mile from a well-maintained gravel road, about five miles from the interstate. Coincidentally (seeing as both participants are pilots), quite close to the airport that serves the Waco area.

Plans

We had been planning to geohash together for the better part of a week, and this was the day we decided on for the meetup.

Expedition

Documented from Neiman's perspective

Ellen reached the area a few minutes before I did, and kindly chose to wait for me before attempting the final approach to the hash. The walk from the road was fairly easy, although a few barbed wire fences had to be negotiated. We stayed at the location for a few minutes, chatting about or lives and placing the geohashing poster on a nearby tree. On the return trip to the road, we encountered some friendly cows.

This hash, for Ellen and I both, was more than just an adventure to a random location in our area as many geohashes are. It represented the strange convergence of the internet with our real, tangible lives. Needless to say, the experience of meeting someone only known to you via a screen is quite exhilarating, whether it is planned or spontaneous.
