I drove to the small carpark outside the gate of Government House, then walked the 150m or so to the bridge between the fences of Government House and the Golf Club. Each said that trespassing was not a good idea.

The lake is probably quite shallow here, but still several metres deep. So, I could NOT get to the hash, but got as close to it as the bike-path bridge (representing mother nature) allows.
