Expedition

Danatar

It's Good Friday and I did't have to work, so I took the chance to visit my parents over the holidays. I loaded my car full of stuff to take to them and started along my usual route. Usual as in "I take this route whenever I'm not geohashing on the way", so it's more like "the route I sometimes take". But this time I actually stayed on it for a very large part. The Autobahn A81 I left one exit early at Neuenstadt am Kocher and from there I drove along country roads to Oedheim. At the beginning of the field track leading to the hashpoint, I parked the car and started walking. The sun was shining and it was warm, around me there was green, with an orchard on one side and meadows on the other. After a while I arrived at the hashfield and saw that there were no plants growing in it, hooray. I walked around it since the hashpoint was near the opposite corner, then with the gps unit's aid went the last steps towards the spot. Soon I was walking back to my car, then continueing on my journey. The shortest route was through Bad Friedrichshall and Bad Wimpfen and soon I was on the Autobahn A6. The "detour" I had taken on this expedition took about three quarters of an hour, but it was shorter in kilometers.
