Expedition

"Are you completely sure this is the best way?", squeaked Calamus's bike exhaustedly, as the already steep road seemed to grow even worse. "I don't think you're in a position to complain", Calamus managed to utter between two pants, "I suppose you do realise that I'm the one doing the work here?" "Except that I have the pleasure of being pressed between the road, your feet and your buttocks, and that I'm carrying you. And you've put on some weight." Calamus totally had a clever response, but he lacked the breath to pronounce it.

Once again, the hashpoint was on the other side of the Uetliberg ridge, and since the weather was marvellous, Calamus had decided to go there by bike. Now the Uetliberg ridge wasn't particularly high, but of course Calamus had accidentally picked the route least suited for bicycles and was completely out of training. Nevertheless, it didn't take long to cross the ridge, and afterwards, it was all just a matter of orientation, Calamus's forté. And so, he soon found himself on a completely unrelated other ridge on a thin mountain path.

Even later, Calamus somehow ended up at the right village and found the hashpoint in a field.

Going back was facilitated by the fact that Zurich had substantially more visitors than the hashpoint, leading to the helpful existence of signposts. In total, the way back took less than half the time the way there had taken.
