The geohash is in a forest near Gauting.

Who Went

TheOneRing - by public transport.

The Expedition

This geohash would have been qualify as a very very nice one, but a major issue converted it to a just very nice one: the German Train Driver Union was on strike the whole weekend and going by train was quite a challenge. My example: It took me 1.5hours to get to Gauting, which should take only the half...same for the tour back. Well, that's the way it was, I made the best out of it.

Of course Sunday, and I wanted to sleep a little bit longer, so I started at 10am and took the trains to Gauting. I walked through the village of Gauting, took a wrong turn and was suddenly on the wrong road. We are talking here about a detour of approx. 1km, so no big deal.

At the geohash I took the usual photographs, but as it was in the forest, there were only trees. Nevertheless, I have a new camera and wanted to test, so I took a 360° panoramic view of the geohash. Thereafter, I walked back to Gauting train station, but this time the way I initially wanted to go.

On my way back, I wanted to practise once more the alphorn, but I didn't find a proper spot; the roads were quite wet and muddy. I walked to a parking lot, which was dry, and practised there. No one complained, so it might have been not too bad.

With waiting again on three train stations for at least 20min each, I took trains home.
