Location

The geohash is in the city of Munich, not far away from the central station and Nymphenburg castle.

Who Went

The Expedition

Good Friday. Holiday. I slept long which made the trip a little bit more complicated, but not complicated enough.

Last week we had a storm called "Niklas" over Germany. Trees were disrooted, streets and railway lines were closed. Therefore, I had only two possible trains to take to avoid rushing to the geohash in time.

The geohash was near the Nymphenburg castle, which I hadn't visited yet. After stepping out at the wrong trainstation, I had to walk approx. 3.5km instead of 1.8km. Big deal, I know, but that's why I didn't have much time for visiting.

From Nymphenburg castle, it was about 3km to the geohash and I started quarter to three. I scheduled I meet-up for 3:30pm with Ninja #1, which was not very clever regarding the official meet-up time.

I walked to the geohash along a canal which goes from the castle to a fountain, and probably further underneath the city. I arrived the geohash around 3:15pm and took a first set of photographs and had a small picnic. As the Easter holidays aren't far away I had an Easter egg and some water.

At 3:30pm, Ninja #1 arrived by bike. We started chatting, waiting for 4pm. I hereby claim a Multiple-PhD-award (or at least a gratuitous ribbon) for having two PhDs at a meet-up.

At 4pm, Ninja #2 arrived at the geohash, surprisingly for me, as we haven't arranged anything. So there were the three of us, taking more photos, chatting, and waiting for others, but no one else came.

Around 4:30pm we said good-bye to each other, and I walked to the central station to get a train home.

A great trip with a greater meet-up.
