Plans

After camping at the Potomac Campground in Hector, NY, I will be driving to the Adirondacks to visit my parents at their friend's cabin on Long Lake. Stopping at the Sunday hash in the Syracuse Graticule is not too far out of the way and doesn't add much time to the trip. I'll be able to add another new graticule to my list if successful. I'll be staying in Long Lake until Tuesday so I'll have 2 chances to get a Virgin Graticule in Hamilton County, New York or one of the surrounding graticules to the East, West, South and Northwest.

Note on the Adirondack trip, there were no close hashes while I was up there or on the drive home. Better luck next time.

Expedition

Surprisingly not hung over from the day before(bachelor party), I packed up my camping gear, had breakfast and headed out early to drive to the hash and the Adirondacks.

Some of the early turns in the directions were troublesome as a few intersections weren't marked, but I eventually made my way to the road by the hash. Parking, I started to walk toward the hash just as a car was driving by. Sure enough, he stopped and asked if I was all right and if I needed a ride. I said I was all good and was just going for a quick walk. He looked at me weirdly, but went on his way and I on mine.

Getting into the woods, I was again grateful for the drought we are currently experiencing. Shortly after entering the woods, I was walking through a former swamp. The ground was still damp, but firm and there was no standing water anywhere, much to the dismay of all the frogs jumping away from me.

Finding my way to the hash, I got my pictures and made my way back to the car happy to add another graticule to my list. Bonus, this is a consecutive hash too.
