Yosef (talk)

Plans

I planned on taking a bus from Jerusalem to Shiloh Junction and then walking from there via the Har'el Hill outpost to Eli.

Expedition

I get off the bus and I start trying to orient myself with the map on the phone. I then see a 20 something year old couple and ask them where they are going. They point west in the direction of Har'el Hill. I asked if they were looking to expand their group. They of course said no. Great. If I go that way, I'll ruin their privacy. I decided to follow highway 60 on the east side. I found an underpass for ATV's under the highway, but I didn't succeed in finding a good trail that would lead me Har'el Hill. I ended up getting to the hashpoint in a pretty boring fashion by following the highway. Minor disappointment.

I took records at the hashpoint and then hitched from the post into Shiloh. My next hitch was to Sha'ar Binyamin (a small industrial center) and then from there to Pisgat Ze'ev Jerusalem. From there I took the light rail train to the Sun Riser Synagogue next to the Mahane Yehuda market and walked about three kilometers home.
