Plans

As almost always I planned to go by bike.

Expedition

The weather forecast was really bad for the weekend and when I briefly woke up at 6 it looked as spending the day in the mountains might not be so much fun. At 7:30 it looked good and the sun came out, but it was quite late to do something as the forecast said the afternoon shall be bad. But it got better and better and at 8:30 I decided to check for the hash location. My mood made a good jump forward when I saw how close it was. I started to prepare a bag with some food, checked for the way to there and off I went. The ride was not very spectacular until I closed in on the hast. I had to cycle up in a forest and maybe lost the way. I ended up pushing my bike up a mountain bike downhill path which was quote exhausting. 5 minutes before reaching the hash some light rain started but considering the temperatures it was okay. The hash was easily accessible and located and I took some pics and went to a nearby bench to take a break. The rain stopped and I decided to try to reach the Pfänder (Hausberg of Bregenz). I have been on top of this hill countless times but never by bike. In fact I have never used my bike to climb any mountain, maybe some hills so I was not surprised to be quite exhausted when finally reaching it. My body was yelling for food so I gifted myself with some Käsespätzle. I made by way down to Bregenz and according to my navigation I reached around 80km/h top speed which I will have to validate after checking the track manually. The weather still nice and sunny, I congratulated myself to take a towel and swimming shorts with me and spend the afternoon at the lake swimming and getting sunburned. Finally some dark clouds coming from the Swiss side hinted that it is a good time to go home. 30 Minutes after being home and still very exhausted a nice little thunderstorm said hello.

After approx. 5 years I finally went hashing again and it was a nice success. 50km, 1100 meters in elevation. Hash reached.
