Today's hash (or at least the one in the Enschede graticule) was on a road at the northern end of Vriezenveen, a small town in the Twente region of Overijssel province. I chose to go there today because I had been planning to visit this town for some time already, since I have a personal connection to it: my great-great-great-grandfather was a merchant from Vriezenveen, who travelled to Saint-Petersburg to sell Dutch wares to the Russians. Many people from the town were involved in this trade, and became known as [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rusluie Rusluie], which means "Russia people" in the local dialect.

Since the hash was located on a road, I first tried to make a Speed Racer Achievement, but this didn't work out: the hash was actually a few metres beside the road surface, and it didn't seem like a wise idea to drive down the road at 60 km/h with two wheels on grass. So instead I parked the hashmobile and walked to the point. It was located right next to a large poultry farm. I took the required pictures and then went to the local history museum to find out more about the town and its history.

Today's hash (or at least the one in the Enschede graticule) was on a road at the northern end of Vriezenveen, a small town in the Twente region of Overijssel province. I chose to go there today because I had been planning to visit this town for some time already, since I have a personal connection to it: my great-great-great-grandfather was a merchant from Vriezenveen, who travelled to Saint Petersburg to sell Dutch wares to the Russians. Many people from the town were involved in this trade, and became known as Rusluie, which means "Russia people" in the local dialect.

This marks my first hash in Overijssel province. Just Drenthe and Groningen to go to complete all twelve!
