Plans

I convinced my family to go on what I thought would be "a short quarter-mile walk to a spot next to a creek".

Expedition

We parked our car safely on the side of the road and started to make a b-line for the geohash. We came upon a swamp, seemingly nothing too bad, and it appeared to end soon ahead. (I say "appeared"). The swamp slowly got denser, deeper, and all around swampier. It started drizzling and we had one casualty, Anna, who fell into waist-high swamp water. The morale of the troops was less than desirable, but despite being slowed to a rate of about 20 feet per minute, we eventually made it to the spot. Or rather, as close as we could get.

For our return trip, we thought it'd be best to find another way back. We went a little out of our way to what seemed to be woods. Sure enough, the swamp slowly cleared and we were greeted with a nice, relatively dry woodland path. We made good time on the non-swampland and came to the road, very wet, but happy.

Achievements

I think we're deserving of this achievement, the swamp was very dense, deep, and it was raining. We were all very wet. Template:Mnimb geohash
