Remove this section if you don't want an image at the top (left) of your report.  You should remove the "Image:" or "File:"

tag from your image file name, and replace the all upper-case word IMAGE in the above line.

And DON'T FORGET to add your expedition and the best photo you took to the gallery on the Main Page! We'd love to read your report, but that means we first have to discover it! :)

Expedition

Phase I

Steve led the expedition's first phase, which consisted of cycling all the way from a bouldering gym in Brunswick down to Lachie's house in Flemington. There were no noteworthy happenings to report.

Phase II

Lachie took over as expedition commander. Noting the expected late finishing time of the expedition, and possible missing of dinner, he invited Steve to join in on pasta and beer, and a quick game of electro pinball.

Then the newly doubled expedition made its way through a cloud of delicious smelling curry, through Ascot Vale and along the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail. The evening was peaceful, and mishaps were none. Unless Lachie's failure to make it up a steep pedestrian bridge on his single speed counts as a mishap, which probably it does. A wonderful collection of hard rubbish was observed in Brunswick West.

Phase III

Emerging from the piles of hard rubbish was one Ed, perfectly on time. We set off further up a hill, meandering further through the back streets of Brunswick.

Phase IV

As we turned right at a traffic light, we were unexpectedly joined by a Max on a shiny new Surly Midnight Special. Possibly I was the only one who didn't expect this. Without even stopping we continued our journey through the dense residential grid. We nearly ran down a woman getting out of her car as we arrived at our next stopping point.

Phase V

We were now at Laura's house. The woman we had just passed turned out to be Fi, who could not be persuaded to join the adventure. We admired a white cat sitting contentedly on the roof, watchfully surveying the scene. Laura's gore-tex jacket with a kangaroo pocket was magnificent. We were very close to the hash now, but as we were almost in sight, we were suddenly stopped by a car on the side of the road.

Phase VI

It was Cam, wearing suit, fresh from a hard day of lawyering. He joined our convoy, in car mode. 5 bikes and a car, what will they think of next? It must have been the critical ingredient, because soon we were at the hash! On a nature strip, outside a random house. Couldn't be easier. A fine photo was taken.

Phase VII

Losing Max and Ed, and briefly Cam, who had to drive home in order to be able to walk, we beelined to the nearby Post Office Hotel for a post-hash pint. The kitchen was closed, and although the bartender hinted that dessert might still be possible, he reneged on his hint and it was just beer after all. Then the party split into three separate strands and evaporated into the night.
