Plans

  • Monday's is.... oh my god.
  • Monday's is 200m away from the venue where I got married.
  • We have to go there. The venue closed YEARS ago, but we have to go there.
  • (Hilarious fact about my wedding: Less than a week later, the rabbi who married us announced his retirement - and over the next five years, one by one, every single other organization involved in the wedding joined him in shutting their doors, from the band to the venue to the organizer to the catering. EVERYTHING.)

Expedition

  • Expedition success! Me, #3, and #4 made it to the hashpoint; my wife, #1, and #5 chickened out when we had to clamber down into a dry riverbed. (#2 stayed home.)
  • We got to see our wedding venue. It's been abandoned for almost 15 years; turns out that the venue was illegally built on land that was zoned for agriculture and the government brought a suit against it a year and a half BEFORE our wedding.
  • Stupid government always ruining things. It was a truly beautiful place. And it's amazing to see how quickly it got overrun by weeds taller than a person!
  • The hashpoint itself was 200 meters away from the venue, in a pumpkin field.
