Expedition

So I've been waiting and watching for like a year to find a hash I can either ride to or walk to, and this one just popped out of nowhere.

Life has changed a bit since my last series of hashes so finding the time to do this in the daylight hours is a bit...challenging. Careers, family commitments etc. But super happy to see Felix and Stevage are still doing their thing and keeping Melbourne on the front page.

I started from the Box Hill skate park then pretty much walked the back streets. Not dressed for the occasion with tshirt and shorts, and it got down to 3 degrees.

The hash point was down a driveway on the other side of a house, which itself backed onto a reserve. Across the driveway was a gate, padlocked, so I couldn't reach the point proper without breaking laws. It didn't help that it was like 2230.

I walked up the reserve and got to 20 metres from the hashpoint.

Then I walked home. On the way home as I passed Mont Albert Primary School. I heard a high pitched screaming from one of the fence lines. Highly unsettling, it sounded just like a human screaming in pain.

Just as I bought out my phone to call emergency services, a large red fox came running out into the streetlight.

So if anyone asks you "what does the fox say", scream in a bloodcurdling way at the top of your voice, as if someone had just done something particularly unpleasant to one of your extremities.
