Expedition

In the morning, I cycled to Osnabrück Central, took the train via Münster to Drensteinfurt, and cycled towards Sendenhorst.

The coordinates were on a field, but there was an unforeseen[1] stream between me and the Geohash. Could I jump it or would it be wiser to take the my kingdom for a boat consolation prize? It turns out that there was a third option: I spotted a small bridge a bit further upstream. When I got there, it turned out that the bridge was just a fallen tree - I suppose I am Mother Nature's favorite again! The tree was not wide enough that I dared to balance over it. Instead, I sat on it sideways and scooted my way to the other bank.

A few meters further, it turned out that there is a second stream. This time, I was confident I could jump it and did so. Finally on the right piece of land, I walked over to the field. I think the crops growing on there were young canola plants. There were suitable tractor tracks that led my almost to the coordinates, and for the last meters, I carefully stepped in the spaces between the rows of plants and located the coordinates there.

After recording proof, I went back to my bicycle. I didn't want to cross two streams again, since I noticed that they merge into each other which would mean that I'd only have to cross one stream. At the confluence, I noticed that the combined stream was a bit too wide for my taste, so I opted jumping over the two streams one at a time after all. The first jump was fine, but after the second jump one of my feet slid back into the water. I suppose that I spoke too soon about being Mother Nature's favorite. My shoe, sock and foot were not as wet as I had initially feared, they would dry soon.

Enabled to continue, I cycled to the Sendenhorst/Krankenhaus bus stop on my way to 2023-09-30 52 8 in Albringhausen.

  1. The stream is mapped, I just didn't notice it.

Is it true that Fippe earned the Mother Nature's Favorite achievement?
In principle, yes.
But Mother Nature giveth, and Mother Nature taketh away. Also, that's not even a standard achievement. (2023-09-30 51 7).
