Expedition

The geohash was located very near to Beaulieu road station in the new forest. I bought a ticket to set off from home at 1615 after work, and got the 1631 to the central station. It was a nightmarish day for travel all over Southern England as there had been a bomb scare at Basingstoke. What should have been a quick 15 minutes on the train turned into four successive cancelled trains and 2.5 hours of waiting at the station. Fortunately a lovely bloke called Phil noticed my plight and eventually gave me a taxi chit to get me to the geohash via taxi. The driver was also a very nice chap who goes walking in the New Forest with his kids in summer.

I got dropped off at The Drift pub next to the station and walked to the hash - very uneventful, if a little muddy! First geohash in ten years complete, and a well deserved pint in The Drift. Worth noting that the pub has an old original red phone box! Sadly only an honourable mention for phone box stuffing, as there was only one of me. Going to invent an achievement for myself for geohashing again after a ten year break.
