Plans

Looking at today’s location, it looked like it would be another geohash that lined up almost perfectly with our travel plans!

As our first stop (starting in Bologna) was initially planned to be Dozza, this would only add maybe five to ten minutes to our journey, and it looked like it was in a car park!

Expedition

As it turns out, neither Dozza nor the geohash were going to be our first stop today.

Yesterday we got a chip on the windscreen of our rental car thanks to a pebble hitting it at high speed on a motorway, so instead we first went to a repair shop in San Lazzaro. That’s fine, that’s basically directly south of the hash!

We were then told that the chip was large enough that they’d need to replace the whole windscreen, so instead we had to go back to Bologna to get a replacement rental car. And then they didn’t have any cars that they could give us in the city, so we had to go to the airport to get a replacement!

At this point I was worried that this whole debacle had taken long enough that my parents would decide to not go to the geohash - thankfully, though, they were still fine with going.

All in all, getting to the hash itself was pretty easy. We did take a momentary wrong turn, but after that was corrected there were no issues. I got out of the car, took the relevant proof pictures and stuck a sticker on a metal box, and we left. Easy!
