Calgary, Alberta, is a split city. It is centered on 51°N, 114°W, and therefore split into four graticules.

The 51°N circle of latitude passes along 59th or 60th Avenue S. 114°W is represented by parts of Highway 2/Deerfoot Trail, Barlow Trail, Ogden Road, and 24 Street E.. The creatively-named Meridian Road runs just alongside Barlow. South of Fish Creek Park, the meridian roughly follows the Bow River.

On the xkcd Blag, Gylbert suggested that each week, Calgarians look at all four locations and pick the location which is closest to exactly 51°N, 114°W. See the Gylbert Algorithm page for details.
