Eastern Time (ET) in the United States is defined as:

  • UTC -5 hours during Standard Time
  • UTC -4 hours during Daylight Saving Time (second Sunday in March - first Sunday in November)

The New York Stock Exchange, which publishes the opening value of the Dow Jones Industrial Average used in the algorithm, opens at 9:30am ET on most weekdays.
