Karlsruhe's city marketing guys put up two oversized (height 8 meters) town signs at an offramp of the Südtangente, a highway through the souther suburbs of Karlsruhe. What followed was heavy criticism (being a waste of money, 50,000€ were spent on these signs) These days, the signs celebrate the first email sent in Germany, which was 25 years ago at the Karlsruhe University.
