* The geohasher must have met a cat during the expedition (not necessarily at the geohash itself)

* He must have patted the cat (have physical contact that is not aggravating the cat)

* He must not force patting on an unfriendly cat (bad luck, then).

* He must prove this with a photo of the cat, and ideally but not necessarily him- or herself. (That's what most people did until now)

Definition

  1. Geohashers who would take this ribbon must meet a cat during the expedition (significantly close to the geohash, but not necessarily at the geohash itself[1]) -- bringing one's own cat along for the trip is not this achievement, but is instead a drag-along achievement.
  2. They must pat the cat (have physical contact that is not aggravating the cat).
  3. They must not force patting on an unfriendly cat -- this is uncouth and may also be bad luck, depending on the coat colour of the cat.
  4. They must prove this with a photo of the cat, and ideally but not necessarily also depicting the claimant.
    1. There is no strict distance limit, as cats do not obey to such confinements. Let's say that you meet the cat during the very last part of your journey.
