Today I learned that many rivers in this corner of Europe are named (Something) Aa, which to me looked like Scandinavian Å, meaning "river". Indeed, they are cognates. [1] [2] Something I didn't know despite knowing quite a bit of German. ― Kripakko (talk) 20:56, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
