But a ferry should count as "mass transit", even if it's not literally public transportation. Must the geohash be reached _solely_ by transit, or can the person walk, unicycle, skateboard or hitchhike to reach points beyond the reach of transit? In other words, is this achievement available only when a geohash falls exactly on a transit line or at a transit stop?

Going by ferry would only count as water if the geohash itself is at a point covered by water. If crossing water were the only criterion every hash in my graticule would be a water geohash! Robyn, 23 July 2008
- Agreed, you can't just take a boat for part of the travel. I changed PTG and WG to better explain that. But a ferry should count as "mass transit", even if it's not literally public transportation. So a taxi doesn't count, but, say, Amtrak would, if the geohash is on the line or in/near a station and you get off the train there. -- Jevanyn
