I live in Northampton, MA now, having just graduated Smith College. My parents live on Long Island, which means I'll also be around there for extended periods. So I may be at either the New_York,_New_York meetups or the Springfield,_Massachusetts ones.
I wrote CoastSeeker last year (literally a week after the geohashing comic, but I never publicized it) since most of my initial geohashed points were in the ocean. It will find the closest coast point in your graticule to whatever you enter. That's a warning too - it won't detect if you give it a land or water point, it'll just find the coast (which I think is nice, but I like the beach).
