I visited the co-ordinates of the day in the Cambridge UK graticule. No one else was there. Next time, I'll pre-advertise my intention to make an expedition.

:Please do pre-advertise!  If you'd indicated an intention to go, I'd have come and met you there.  As it was, I thought it was a little far from me (Cambridge), but I'd certainly have been interested to meet new hashers.  If you edit the Cambridge page or my talk page, I'll see what plans I've got for the day.  Tomorrow's and Monday's points are quite close to today's -- I don't know how accessible they might be.  Do you?  Anyway, welcome to geohashing.  :-)  -- Benjw 20:30, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

::Thanks. I'll get the hang of this eventually. For example I have photos and GPS track evidence but I have not read the instructions for those tasks yet.

:::It's all straightforward once you've figured out what to do.  Photos and GPS tracks are not totally necessary to report a successful expedition, but they're nice to have and other wiki users like looking at them.  Give me or any other user a shout if you need a hand with anything.  -- Benjw 20:41, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

::::My home graticule is Norwich so visits to the Cambridge area are a bit far for me unless I'm already heading that way for another reason. Sadly my local Sunday hash is in the sea again.

Hi Neil. Nice to see another active Norwich-based geohasher - I've done a dozen hashes and not met anyone else yet! You'll soon find that most of the hashes in our graticule are either in the sea or in a field! Give me a shout via my discussion page if you're planning a hash and I'll see if I can make it. I'll reciprocate the deal :-) MagicIan 23:02, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

Neil wonders if 2010-09-13_52_1 is in a tiger enclosure. The hashpoint is at Banham Zoo.
:Hello Ian and thanks for that information. I like fields! I have been working out how to use the wiki. I hope you don't mind but I looked at some of your pages in edit mode to see how things worked. Most useful!

Neil, today's hashpoint is not far from where I live so if I get a chance this afternoon I'll try and make it down. I've got a bunch of jobs to do before that so not sure what time it'll be, but I'll leave a marker in case you get there after me. MagicIan 08:59, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

:Thanks but I had other plans for Friday. Another of my passtimes is to walk interesting routes and document them on WikiLoc. Then I check out Open Street Map and if necessary add the footpaths and roads. OSM is often better than the Ordnance Survey for clearly displayed footpaths. Saturday is in the sea. Sunday is in a field without easy access or many interesting features nearby. Monday is in the sea again.

The preview button is your friend.

Or at least the friend of anyone who is looking at "recent changes".

If you hit this instead of "save" when you are editing a page, it will let you see what it looks out, but not save the edit. Thus, you can check it and modify it, and not fill up the "Recent changes" log with a lot of tiny edits to the same page. Jiml 01:48, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
