Fippe

Welcome to the Geohashing Community! I noticed that your user page looks like an expedition page - what are you trying to do there? If I can help you, feel free to ask. --Fippe (talk) 20:58, 16 May 2023 (UTC)

Hey Fippe! Just trying to figure out editing my page. I would also like to know how the whole Geohashing thing works; how do you know where the daily geohash is? --The Voyager 10:40, 21 May 2023 (MST)

Happy Geohashing Day! The "How it works" page breaks down how Geohashing works. New coordinates are announced at 9:30 New York time from Monday to Friday, the weekend's coordinates are also announced on Friday. You can find the coordinates at Geohashing.info for example. --Fippe (talk) 16:48, 21 May 2023 (UTC)

FYI: It is possible to preview changes you are making to a page by clicking "Show preview" instead of "Save changes". --Fippe (talk) 19:48, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Ah. Thanks. --The Voyager (talk) 19:51, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

So what is a graticule exactly? I don't understand. --The Voyager (talk) 20:04, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

The Graticule page explains it pretty well. A TLDR, quoting the page: "the [approximately] rectangular zones between the latitude and longitude lines, each 1°×1° in size." Latitudes are the lines running parallel to the equator, longitudes are the lines running from the North to the South Pole. Does that explain it or do you have something more specific in mind? --Fippe (talk) 20:13, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, I just barely figured it out before you answered. Thanks though! --The Voyager (talk) 20:24, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
