Location
The official location is at the edge of what appears to be a glacier up east of Garibaldi, so the alternate is at Bloedel Floral Conservatory, a domed structure filled with tropical flora and birds. It is about equidistant from SFU and UBC, and as it is located at the highest elevation in the city of Vancouver, it's downhill on the way home for everyone. There is an admission fee, but it's less than $5.

Expedition
That was a little disappointing, but we had fun none the less. My only problem is deciding whether this counts as a Saturday meetup for the XKCD-100, seeing as no one responded, I didn't meet anyone I didn't bring, and I didn't attempt the actual coordinates. I did mark the location as an alternate on the peeron map, made this page describing it, and linked to it from both the Upcoming Events section of the graticule page and the Talk page for the graticule.
We arrived at Queen Elizabeth Park and went into the Conservatory where we saw koi, and trees, and parrots and a bright yellow Chinese pheasant, with a long tail, and cactus and very tacky souvenirs. There was even a good GPS signal inside the dome. I brought a game, but it was too damp and humid to play it anywhere. We scrutized everyone in the dome for geohashing tendencies and brandished our GPS, but didn't leave a marker because it would be litter.
It's still a cool place and I'd go back if it got more support as an alternate another day, or if it should happen to be chosen by the algorithm.
