Expedition

After I had been carefully watching the weather forecast for the last two days, I finally decided to ignore it when I saw something like sunshine in the morning. So I took my bike, not really knowing what was coming up to me. I started in Jena and took the smaller road to Cospeda, where I first got on ice and partly walked the way with my bike. When I arrived at my friends' house, they weren't willing to do the same stupid stuff, so we agreed on meeting an hour later at the hash point and they would go by car. By this time, I was used to some ice on the road, so I came at least to Krippendorf without bigger problems, but after that, the ice was accompanied by masses of snow. The best parts of the road from Krippendorf to Hermstedt were covered in a 15cm-layer with a skidmark right through, but as it seemed to originate from a huge tractor, it wasn't really possible to ride my bike through it. The point to walk was finally reached when even the skidmark ended. Now I had to decide: walk on the muddy field or through 30cm of snow? I tried the field first, but it was REALLY muddy, my tires were so dirty they didn't move anymore, so I cleaned them in the snow and went on there, where my shoes got wet right away and now the tires were so covered in snow that they didn't move either. So I came to alternately push and carry my bike for the next km, until I thankfully reached an icy surface again. The slightly instable ride went on for another 3 km, until I was on the main street to Apolda, which had no ice on it, but instead there were insane drivers anywhere... well, I somehow still reached the hashpoint, almost at the same time as my friends, and it really was on a half-muddy-half-snowy field, so we decided to build only very small snowmen (else they would have been covered in mud). As it was still warm, I wanted to go the way back by bike, too - on the bigger road this time, but then there was such a headwind that I wasn't the least faster. On the last 5 km I was even surprised by some spraying icy rain - I really had it all... thanks to Manu and Reinhard for cake and tea.

Additionally, as I did all this by bike (I won't give me another bike geohash now) I feel I deserve an OWN geohash for this. If anyone has objections, he can still take it away from me ;)
