Tomcat, Hans and dawidi
Since dawidi had already "used up" the day's 49 12 hashpoint in the morning, but Tomcat and Hans wanted to go hashing too, we decided to visit a different spot in the evening. This one was about 60km by car, which took a bit over an hour since there's no Autobahn going in that direction and we used the undulating road through the beautiful Altmühl valley.
We arrived at a picnic/parking area a couple of hundred meters north of the hash and ventured uphill on foot using small, overgrown tracks, collecting bug bites and ticks, then walked on an access road for a nearby radio tower until our GPSes suggested we turn right on barely recognizable logging roads. Reception at the hash was incredibly bad - the GPS would get "stuck" to some location while we walked, and start drifting when we stopped walking. We danced around on the brushes and loose sticks for a while, then agreed on one location, took pictures and left again rather quickly as the bugs were zeroing in on us.
As we have done several times before, we ended the expedition at the nice pizzeria around the corner from my place (and pointed out the ISS flying by to the waiter and the other guests) before we split up.
