Plan

Bill^2: Great opportunity for some achievements!

  • Speed Racer Achievement
  • Virgin Graticule
  • Pub Geohash (meet at Boston's the Gourmet Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar on the other side of Hayes Rd or Roosevelt's Bar and Grill just south of Hall Rd on Hayes?)
  • Minesweeper Geohash (for those of us coming from the Detroit, Michigan graticule.)

We'll plan to be there around 4pm per the official scheduling. Hope to see others as well!

Expedition

Bill^2, Sarah and Brayden left home in Troy to inaugurate the Windsor, Ontario graticule. Sarah drove, so I could wrangle the GPS and take pictures. After finding the optimal location for the GPS on the dash, and figuring out how best to handle the usual focusing issues, we proceeded to the site. The first pass was a wash -- the pictures were terrible, and I was too early on my first shot and too late on my second. On the second pass, however, I nailed it! Picture posted is at N42d37.671' (right on) and W82d58.320' (.005, or less than 20 feet). We continued on to Target, shot the obligatory picture, and headed home happy.
