ilpadre: I'll go there after work, so it'll already be dark when I arrive at the coordinates. The point is very close to the 2011-03-20 49 8 coordinates, so there will be many opportunities to take pictures for the Revisited gallery. The hashpoint is at the left side of this picture, although judging from the photo it's unclear if the coordinates are accessible:

Karl_77: I'll try to reacht the hashpoint by foot in the morning before work. It's said I won't meet ilpadre but I've got too many appointements in the evening. I'll try to get three achievements: walk, formal attire, and tron. Let's see how it turns out.

Expedition

This was a perfect hashpoint to start my expeditions in 2012. As it was only about 1,2 kilometres away from my house, I decided to walk there. I also suited up in order to get the Formal Attire achievement. I aimed for the Tron achievement but failed. I walked past the hash point and had to turn back. I didn't know that my tracklog program is accurate enough to show that I didn't cross my own line there, so I thought I screwed up the Tron achievement. Later I discovered I didn't lose it at that point but later when I was thinking I already failed at the achievement. Well, that's life. :) The hashpoint itself was on an empty meadow, right next to a big fence. I took a picture of me wearing a suit and left a little note for ilpadre who planned to go there in the late afternoon. I hope it's still there when he reaches the hashpoint. It was a short and fun expedition and a great start for my second geohashing year.

Did not make it. There were several police officers and a truck in the field right at the hashpoint. How big are the odds of a 40 ton truck swinging off the road to plough 50 meters through a field, stopping right at the coordinates?

Revisiting an area that will continue to change a lot.
On the way to the hashpoint, I was overturned by a police car. Little did I know that they were heading for the same field.
