Hey kids, I know it's dark, but fancy a trip out to the middle of nowhere? What if we had some ice-cream with chocolate sauce first?

Expedition

With some vanilla ice-cream (with chocolate sauce) dispatched into our stomachs, we hit the road. Sadly there hadn't been enough time in the day to do this one in daylight, but the draw was there nevertheless. (And as the old hashing saying goes: "a family that geohashes together, stays together.") Actually, it was a nice time to catch up on everyone's news for the day.

And one bit of excitement en route was that a ford had flooded necessitating a bit of re-routing.

But we eventually got there, a single lane gravel road, running in between paddocks.
