The Quaternary (talk) family geohashers
Plans
Today's geohash is in the relatively new Ashley Rakahuri Regional Park, in Rangiora, New Zealand, which opened on 14th October 2012. Activities that you can do in the park include walking, family mountain biking, single-track mountain biking, swimming (perhaps not this time of the year), kayaking, fishing, picnicing and birdwatching. And if you are very lucky, geohashing!
Expedition
Rangiora is about 35km from home, so a 70km round trip. This was going to be extra exciting, because this would be the furtherest distance that we would have taken our electric car.
Speaking of electricity, on arrival it became evident that the major hurdle was that it was necessary to leap an electric fence - the geohash was just on the other side of it.
