Expedition

Dropped my son off for a job this morning in lower Canyon Park and headed up to the hashpoint from there. It was easily found, in fact I was able to park less than a meter from the point.

I chalked the sidewalk and fence, and snapped a picture toward the pond north of the hashpoint by reaching over a fence.

This hashpoint is close to two others I've visted, but I've been on Seattle Hill Road before for a different reason. There was an early dungeon exploration game called Mordor which was a lot of fun, and a sequel was released called Demise. I was able to find one copy in a mom-and-pop software store, which I showed to a friend. He wanted it also.

Unable to find another copy, we looked the company up on the web and found that IPC Software was located just up the road from where we worked on a place called Seattle Hill Road. I hadn't heard of the road, the company, and didn't expect a business to be located in such a rural neighborhood.

Turns out I was correct, to a point. The business was actually the head programmer, and that explains the lack of wide distribution. We drove away from a friendly meeting with a second copy of the game and a poster of the main cover. A fragment of that cover is located here.

Demise has been shuffled around and remains a good old game with an unusual history.
