Plans
Woke up early this morning, and saw that there was a great looking hash! Lying there, trying to work out when I could possibly manage to fit this into the day, I realised that the only time was right now. So leaping out of bed, grabbing my partner in crime, we set off on our 35 kilometre trip to the hash. And we wouldn't be too late for work.
Expedition
The sun was still coming up as we arrived at the hash location. Although, what had looked like some sort of off-road track, turned out to be a swamp! If only we had brought along some gumboots.

Greenpark Huts is a little community on the edge of Lake Ellesmere / Te Waihora, or more correctly, a broad, shallow lagoon.
Located between the huts and the Lake is the hash - but unfortunately it is also located in a swamp!
The sun is coming up, and is shining not yet on us, but it is shining on the mountains in the background. It is a lovely morning.
We get to within about 5 metres of the hash, and it became clear that one of us was having to get their feet wet ... or turn back ...
While plucking up the courage, we enjoyed the serenity - here is a view back to the back of the Greenpark Huts ...
... and here is the view towards Banks Peninsula.
Shedding shoes and socks, I strike out in the icy water.
A bit of island hopping is necessary.
I'm here! And, at least until the ice melts, I'm on dry land - bonus. Time for the obligatory selfie...
Those feet are getting cold in the water and ice.
Hello to numb feet, and farewell to a lovely spot.
