Plans

Expedition two of two spanning midnight - 2015-10-27 52 0 - 2015-10-28 52 1 - ETA 00:00.

A public footpath runs along the perimeter of the cricket pitch. This should be easy to reach.

Expedition

There was no 3G signal for a live "arrived" message. The expedition went as planned. There was a convenient place to park and the public footpath passed 50 metres from the hashpoint which was close to practice nets. The cricket pitch was in "winter mode". The grass was on the long side and the ground a bit soggy under foot. Doubtless it will come good next spring.

A few years ago, while cycling, I encountered fourteen white trousered backsides sticking out of the roadside hedge. The fielders, batsmen and umpire were searching for the ball, lost in the hedge. I had the luck though. The lost ball had passed through the hedge and was lying on the opposite roadside edge. I was able to put the team out of their misery, whilst enjoying the comic effect of the neat row of bottoms.
