Expedition

After my doctor appointment in the afternoon, I drove to the Town of Cattaraugus for the hash. I saw on the streetview that it didn't look posted and in fact had some paths going into the area.

Getting to the town proved almost as difficult as my drive to a similar area when I went on my 100th expedition. As I was driving through the town of Otto, I saw the bridge I crossed when I was on that expedition and was glad I didn't have to go that way...but what is this? Just past that road, was another Road Closed ahead sign indicating that this bridge is being worked on now and I can't cross here. Remembering that massive detour I took from last time, I seriously considered just going home. Driving back through Otto, I parked and pulled up a map just to check. Fortunately, I found a very short detour and was again on my way.

Finding a place to park in Cattaraugus, I walked over to the section of woods and followed the concrete path in. It kind of just ended about 30 meters/yards in and I stopped at the top of a short but steep drop off in the hill. Working my way around that and all the wild rose bushes and thorns, I made my way closer to the hash and ended up at one of the creeks. I was kind of worried as we've had a lot of rain over the past day or so and the creeks were running high and just wide enough that I couldn't jump it. I knew if I tried from the other side, there was another creek to cross too so I found a log jam and carefully used the large broken branches to get over. From there, it was a simple GPS dance to get close enough for the pictures. I was able to get back to the car the same cautious way with no issues and headed for home. On the way back, however, I noticed another tick walking across my leg. I grabbed it and threw it out the window. UGH!

With this success, this is now a Consecutive Hash, with yesterday's hash here, and tomorrow's attempt here.
