My Saturday morning job is umpiring the PSSBL Adams division championship baseball game at Newport HS (Factoria). This is followed by a second game if the winners bracket team loses. So, time of visit approximate after baseball. --Thomcat (talk) 14:06, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

Expedition

The geohashpoint seems to be in the parking lot of the Mountain View Pool and Park; the pool appears to be closed for the season. If it isn't too cloudy, the mountain view appears to be straight down a set of power lines, and is probably Tiger Mountain.

So the second game was necessary, and both were fairly slow by the standards of recreational baseball - 9 innings in roughly 3 hours. I can go into more detail, but suffice it to say neither of the pitchers would be known as "quick".

After dressing down and grabbing my first food since 7am, I continued 5 more miles east to the geohashpoint. Car GPS took me into a neighborhood, because the pool isn't located where there are "roads", according to its decade old map. Realizing that wasn't right, I pulled up the geohashdroid app and went "around the block" to the pool parking lot.

The good news is that I was able to park right on the spot. I snapped a few pictures and sat back down in my car to log them, which meant reloading the app, and the point had moved some 7 meters.

Taking the best of 5 readings, I found myself to be basically on the spot, and my parking location roughly matched the overheads available from google and bing. The surface of this parking lot is gravel, so next I brought out the chalk and used it on the closest appropriate thing - a dumpster. This article is a few meters from any of the readings, and makes a convenient point.

Thus satisfied (and tired) I headed back towards Issaquah and eventually home.
