From Hannover, I took the train to Neuenhaus via Herford and Bad Bentheim. In 1974, passenger trains stopped going to Neuenhaus. However, on 2019-07-07, the service resumed, putting this part of Lower Saxony in my reach.

However, because the previous train was late, I could not take the new train yet and had to wait an hour in Bad Bentheim. That meant that I could use this time to see the Bentheim Castle. Also, I got to see the legendary train station which was in the news a while back because the doors did not open and people had to go through the windows instead to get in and out.

After the hour passed, I finally took the new train. You can really tell that this is almost the Netherlands, I heard quite a few people talking Dutch, also the train announcements were both in German and in Dutch. From Neuenhaus, I inline-skated to the forest.

When I entered the forest, I switched the inline-skates for shoes again. I reached the coordinates on foot and recorded proof. On the way back, I took a different path through the forest, a shortcut which turned out to be a private path, but there only was a sign on one side of the path (where it touched the main street again) so I suppose it was okay to walk it starting in the forest.

Inline-skating back was significantly easier than the first time, the wind was in my back and there were more downhill ways than uphill ways. At one point, it was a bit too much downhill, I fell and raptors attacked my knee, but I was fine.

From the Neuenhaus train station, I took the train back to Hannover.
