Expedition

Not yet realizing we were in the beginning of the Dark Ages, I was still hoping for a quick restoration of the Wiki. Plus, I had a Consecutive hash to achieve. This was also close enough to bike to and I really hadn't had many opportunities to do so in 2019.

I don't recall what was going on that day, since it was so long ago, but my pictures indicate I arrived at the Hash around 19:00 and got home a half hour later. That means I left for the hash around 18:30 and I get home from work around 17:30 so I must have taken the dogs to the park for a run. That makes sense as I wouldn't feel bad about leaving them home all evening while I galavanted after hashes.

I do recall considering a Tron, but that was out as the park the hash was in was in the corner of the neighborhood that was bound by the Thruway and a major road so I wouldn't be able to get out without crossing my path. I was also considering a Juggernaut, but was thinking it wasn't quite far enough away to account for a couple mandatory deviations. This was also a moot point, when I took a wrong turn and went even more out of my way getting to the hash. I ended up turning one street too soon, but even so, later calculations found that, mistake free, it still would not have qualified, having a deviation of 0.0688.

In any case, I was able to do a short GPS Dance using the HashDroid app and got proof for another successful (and Consecutive - Yesterday's expedition link here) hash.

Additional Notes: Since we have fully entered the Dark Ages at this point I started to really consider any potential hash if it was even worth it to make the attempt. I was still hopeful for a quick wiki recovery at this point, but as the weeks turned into months, I was getting far less optimistic. I still watched the hashes (wasn't going to give up on the unlikely Couch Potato hash if there was even a remote chance the wiki was coming back), but any attempt would only seriously be considered if it was on the way somewhere I was already going. Needless to say, it would be another couple months before I hashed again in the new year.

Not surprising, being in the Dark Ages, this is a Last Man Standing Expedition as well...correction, with Michael5000 posting an expedition report a couple years late, this is no longer a Last Man Standing (see Discussion page for details).
