I am excited to introduce my new hashcots: the Hashhog Family!

From left to right:

the mother, Spiky Norma, humourous though poised and hard-working
her adult son, Luminal the Hashhog (known as Lumie), a childish and insecure but clever science enthusiast
his adolescent sister, Miss Thistly-trousers (who, since that's a horrific name, goes by the nickname Eagle), extroverted, edgy and easy-going

the youngest (but most grown-up and rational) son, Baruch, who was born with a rare disorder that caused his spines to fall out (but don't joke to him about it), and who is most definitely not a mouse
behind them is cheery yet apprehensive Grandpa Pinnsvatnet (called Pinns), he's secretly Norwegian royalty.

At least one of them will accompany me on every expedition from now on (Pinns rarely, as he is not as daring as the others and thinks he's is too old and corpulent to go on adventures), searching for experiences and purpose. They've made a friendly contest of who can attend the most hashes.

Expedition

Finally, my 100th geohash! And it only took me 1127 days!

To celebrate the milestone, I decided I needed to acquire a hashcot, and couldn't resist getting myself a whole bunch of them with individual personalities. And of course they all had to accompany me on this expedition.

The hash lay on a field in Oering, around 40 minutes by bike. I originally wanted to go in the morning, but (as I often do) I procrastinated and only set off in early afternoon. I started a new audiobook and then cycled 15 km to the hash – the distance was only 12.7 km, but I took a wrong turn and only noticed after more than a kilometre. It was quite hot, and by the end I had sweated-soaked my entire outfit.

The hashfield was located next to a meadow. I walked 160 m across it, then only had to venture five metres onto the cropped wheat field, in full sight of a nearby house. I found the coordinates and let the Hashhogs out of their bag for a full family photo-shoot at the geohash. I ate a cereal bar and then, on my way back across the meadow, saw numerous bees dusting the clover blossoms and had to photograph and film several of them up close. Afterwards, I cycled the same way back home in the summer heat.

This hash makes me the 34th geohasher to reach 100 expeditions (not counting retrohashes)!
