Was meeting my girlfriend in the evening for dinner and the Drive-In and this Hash was on Grand Island pretty close to her place so I passed up on an Official Saturday Meetup. It was also fortunately in the median close to the travel lane so we wouldn't have to get out of the car. I had a bike accident last Monday and got 4 stitches in my ankle so it's been difficult to walk much this past week. It's still healing, but the swelling has gone down and the cut is not showing signs of infection so I'm hoping to make a full recovery in about another week or so.

When I got to her apartment, I brought up the possibility of making a detour to the Geohash and she was agreeable. Since she was driving, I would be free to focus on just getting the proof. Going over the Grand Island bridges, we hit the first exit and got on the hash-road. Since we were going in a Westernly direction first, the hash would be on the other side of the median, but I could show we were right there going by. I got a half-decent reading with a screenshot of the HashDroid app and going a little further down the road, we made a U-turn to pass closer to the Hash on the way back to the bridges.

Fortunately, we got caught at the red light right before the hash and I realized my camera settings were messed up because I started taking a video. Quickly changing that, I couldn't turn the flash off in time, so I was only able to take one picture as we went by, but I was able to get the hash-area and the car speedometer showing we were going 45 MPH to match the fortunately placed Speed Sign also in the picture. With the hash right next to the road, we definitely passed within the GPS circle of uncertainty, so I call this good.

The detour only taking an extra 15 minutes or so, we stopped at the New York Beer Project for some dinner and beer before heading down the street to the Drive-in where we watched Jungle Cruise and then Black Widow (both decent, but nothing too spectacular).

All in all, a pretty good evening!
