I hadn't hashed in over two weeks, my longest drought since February – though I could've gone for 2021-07-30 53 9, but didn't due to time constraints and watching the Olympics – so I was glad for this geohash nearby. Only my third road hash, and the second in a row! I really think there should be an achievement for this, it is quite rare in suburban/rural areas. Since I don't have a car, I can't get the Speed Racer achievement, and I don't believe we should encourage speeding anyways. I initially planned to go for the Hobbit achievement, but then reconsidered because taking the train there was faster and I'd have to stand barefoot on a busy street right in front of a restaurant.

In the evening, I took the train to Tanneneck and then cycled 1.3 km to the hash right next to a bus stop in Heide-Haldenberg. Directly in front of the hash, not even 15 m from it, was the Greek restaurant Mythos, whose guests and personnel probably appraised me leerily as I waited for cars to pass and walked onto the street. The hash was near the restaurant side of the road, only half a metre from the kerbside. But traffic was heavier than I expected, and I had to be careful and leave the street several times due to cars coming the round the eastern bend from the Autobahn. It took three attempts to screenshot my location as well as the coordinates and take pictures of Lumie Hashhog and myself.

I considered going into the restaurant and just ordering a glass of water to get the Pub Geohash achievement (if that counts – we don't really have pubs in Germany, and bars are scarce too in my area), but eventually decided against it: I wasn't thirsty, I don't spend money easily and maybe I couldn't've brought myself to just ask for water at the counter, drink and leave after lingering in front of their establishment for so long. So I just cycled the 6.4 km home through Quickborn forest/Meeschensee forest, a classic geohashing route of mine.
