Location

Close to Ottersheim, near Landau (N 49°12.380 E 8°13.803). In the woods, near a path.

Using a Saturday with perfect weather, also a little bit fresh outside, grabbing my son Kellerkind and our bikes and cycle to the hash, go on to Landau and return with train.

Expedition

Starting around noon on our bikes, wearing gloves (11°C), the sun beams are tickling our noses. Through the city, up to river Rhine, crossing it on a bridge and reaching Rhineland-Palatinate. Cycling through fields and towns to reach Jockgrim, a little hamlet for our lunch break in the local chinese diner (see photo). After a delicious meal my son started to digest more than to cycle so our speed slowed down a little bit.

Through some more small towns, along some huge windmills we came to Ottersheim.

The target field is inside the woods but reachable on field roads. After making some photos we ride further on to Landau, a bigger city around 12 kilometers away.

As usual on these trips, I bought a post card for Johanna and wrote it while enjoying a Cappuccino.

We took a train back to Karlsruhe. What a beautiful day.
