Plans

I had been pondering the weekend before if and how I would go there. It's a place I know very well, but it is on a protected reservoir inside the natural park, so riding on bycicle is not allowed.

First plan was maybe bike+walking. Another option was jogging, but from home or do I take the train and jog from there? And it ended up going there by train, jog to the hash, and jog back to the train station.

Expedition

Finally I am back on the action. These last weeks I had not either the time or the location was not convenient or I was out somewhere were hashes were not accessible. But a geohash on Collserola, my so-to-say backyard could not be missed. And specially if it fell in the vicinity of the Font Groga (directly translated Yellow spring). A beautiful area to go for a walk and disconnect. It has been long since I last went there.

So I took the train to Vallvidrera (Barcelona's neighbourhood in the mountain) and started jogging from there. Went after a few geocaches and directly towards the hash. There are some abandoned buildings along the path. And not far from here even an abandoned casino now engulfed by the forest. A Urbex worthy place for those interested in such things.

Soon enough I was on the reservoir. Is a very humid area with a few streams, so I had to be careful on some slippery paths. So far I could only hear and spot some birds.

Font Groga

A few minutes later I arrived at the spring and the hash fell only 30m from here. But... on some undergrowth I had to battle into. Wearing long sleeves I was protected from claw marks and finally I reached the coordinates. And lucky me I had not to dance much. Right here was a geocache which is what lead me to the Font Groga the first time.

It is indeed yellow-ish

After that I sat for a while enjoying the place and not far from me, behind some bushes I could here something moving. It was definitely not a human, nor a bird. Most probably a wild boar. They are a real problem in Collserola. There are far too many on them and they go down on the city and search for food everywhere. They even attack people, most famously the singer Shakira a few months ago.. (Nothing serious, don't worry now :) Only her bag was damaged).

While resting I pondered again. Do I jog back home, or do I jog to the train station. And since it gets dark early I chose train. So I took almost the same path but went towards another train station.

Now almost leaving the forest and approaching some houses I see a big dog on the street but no owner. Wait a second, this is not some big fat dog, that's a wild board. Oh, man. Now what? Do I go back and take another path? I watched it from the distance, but looking at the map there was no easy alternative. It seemed calm, and most importantly there were no little ones with him. So, cautiously, the board on one side of the street me on the other, crossed paths fearing each other but without bothering us. Attack successfully avoided :P

Wild boar trying to block my way.

There were no more surprises.
