Plans

Slightly over two hours, and I am busy, but I'll go anyway.

Expedition

I took the train to Bad Bramstedt and then cycled 4.6 km to the hash, trying out my new bicycle phone mount for the first time (it didn't fall off, but I held it in place on the bumpier paths because I was afraid it would). Bad Bramstedt has some really beautiful scenery along the Bramau river!

The hashpoint lay only 16 m onto a field growing young maize, right next to a tractor track. I could easily step between the seedlings without damaging and reached the coordinates, where I took some pictures with Norma. I had some time left, so I went over to a barn at the edge of the hashfield and was excited to discover that stood open and had apparently fallen into disuse, at least judging from the vegetation in its entry. That's two cool abandoned sheds I explored in three weeks, on subsequent successful expeditions! I wouldn't mind this happening regularly.

There were some tubs and wooden and metal fence parts lying around, but otherwise the barn was mostly empty. A window in the ceiling made it look like a lamp was burning in the back part. I went back to my bike and cycled back to the station, taking a slightly different route through Bad Bramstedt that led me past the Bramstedter Schloss, which was actually just the gatehouse of the actual manor that was torn down in 1751. A few minutes later, I took the A1 home, continuing to listen to a podcast interview of Toby Ord.
