I really wanted to attempt this hash since it was nicely located and I had the time. I'd looked up the connections, which involved taking the bus from the hash to Wrist and then the train into Hamburg to go to uni. However, my bike's tyre had flattened again during the previous day's expedition, so badly that I could not even push the bike, and I had arrived home late. So I'd left the bike near the station to not have to carry half its weight for the entire way home, instead planning to put the back wheel on a rolling board and then cycle home, on a different bike, dragging my bike beside me.
But it came differently: The back wheel kept sliding off the board, so I eventually secured it with my lock. This mostly worked, but now the whole board turned over when there was a tiny step on the path, and it also swung around wildly. I could just about walk between the two bikes, pushing each with one hand, although I regularly had to switch as my arm muscles tired out – the rolling board created a lot of friction. It was also annoyingly loud, and it took me a while to get home. As I had not planned for this, I did not make my desired train and had to scrap the expedition. Shame.
