To the hash point

Very similar to 2023-10-01 50 8 i took the train to Friedberg with my bike and rode from there.

This time, instead of following the river Usa, I crossed it right in Friedberg, climbed over the hill to Schwalheim and followed the river Wetter for this expedition.

The start was a little bit scuffed as my planned route took me down and up some stairs to cross the Dorheimer Straße. Also, in Schwalheim, for some reason, my biking app routed me over the steep hill instead of a very small detour around it. I corrected both of those errors on the way back.

In Schwalheim I got to my planned sightseeing stop at the "big wheel", being indeed a pretty big waterwheel. It was working, but I did not check if it was actually powering anything or just as an attraction.

The rest of the journey was uneventful. Between Wisselsheim and Steinfurth I did take the easy way on a smooth asphalt path next to the main road.

Leaving Steinfurth by crossing the Wetter, just past the cemetery, I left the road and rode the final few meters on a grassy field path.

At the hash point

The hashpoint was just of the path in an already harvested field with some weeds growing on it.

After taking all the prerequisite pictures, I did not stay any longer at the precise hashpoint, since I spotted a nice bench a few meters before the cemetery.

I had my lunch there, which was pretty nice.

Way back

I decided to take a more scenic route back to Wisselsheim on the other side of the Wetter through the fields. At the start, it was easygoing, but near halfway, the path went from smoothish asphalt, concrete and gravel paths to grassy rough paths for 1.6 km. While very picturesque, progress was slower.

Once back on the known route it was easygoing apart from some small climbs. I fixed the routing mistakes in Schwalheim and at the Dorheimer Straße, but the route back into Friedberg was still along a loud stroad through some industry.
