Second trip to Berlin
Berlin-Tiergarten with HeNeArXn · Berlin-Tegel · Hintersee

After visiting 2024-02-12 52 13 in Tegel, I walked to the Berlin-Tegel station and took the train via Berlin-Gesundbrunnen to Pasewalk.

In Pasewalk, I got a MV-Rad rental bike and cycled the rest of the distance. It was slightly raining as I cycled through Viereck, Uhlenkrug, Röderahorst, Marienthal, Borken and Glashütte before entering a forest. I first followed a path that both Google Maps a d OSM had, then one that only Google Maps had, and lastly, a path that neither of them had. This last path led me straight to the coordinates, they were right next to it.

Once I had located the coordinates and recording proof, I started cycling back to Pasewalk. My speed so far had been pretty good and it looked as if I could realistically reach the 13:44 train. Which was nice, since the next one would only come two hours later.

After cycling through Rothenklempnow and Dorotheenwalde, I crossed the river Randow. On the other side of the bridge, I found a large puddle of water, too wide to circumvent. But how deep could it possibly be? Sheer stupidity made me ride the bike right into the puddle, and before I knew it, one of my legs was in the water half-way up my shin. I doubled down, hoping that it wouldn't get any deeper, and indeed it didn't. Thankfully, only one of my feet got wet, while I one-leggedly waded through the puddle with my other foot awkwardly held up by the bike.

With the wind in my face, a soaking wet shoe, and my legs getting tired, my speed slowed down considerably. After passing Breitenstein and Krugsdorf, I made it back to Pasewalk, but my train had already left.

This turned out to be a blessing in disguise, since I was really hungry and now had a chance to get something to eat, paying Pasewalk prices rather than Berlin prices. I also purchased new, and importantly, dry socks.

While I took the train via Berlin Central back to my brother's place at Savignyplatz, I opted just to wear the dry sock and let the shoe stand there. A fellow passenger asked me if I had sprained my foot. No, I replied, just a case of a wet shoe.
